This course will provide you with a complete insight into and knowledge of the PRINCE2® method. You will complete two courses that prepare you to take the Foundation and Practitioner exams.

With the PRINCE2® method, you will eliminate the risk of errors and failed projects and thereby increase the success rate of your projects.

The courses provide you with best practice methods within project management as well as how to apply these methods to your projects.

The PRINCE2® method

PRINCE2® (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a project management method that can be used in all types of projects, environments, and industries. The method is based on best practice. PRINCE2® focuses on the management of a project itself, rather than the development of a project’s products. It contains a complete set of concepts and project management processes that are the minimum requirements for the correct implementation and management of a project.

How to prepare for the courses

PRINCE2® Foundation
You should plan to spend 30—50 hours of preparation reading and solving assignments for PRINCE2® Foundation.

All preparation material and information about your exam will be available on My Mannaz approx. 3-4 weeks before course start. You will also receive the official PRINCE2® manual as an e-book 3-4 weeks before the course starts.

It is important you prepare before the course starts to get the most out of it. The individual assignments, which you complete in the evenings between course days, are an important part of preparing to pass the exam.

PRINCE2® Practitioner
You should plan to spend 10—30 hours of preparation reading and solving assignments for PRINCE2® Practitioner. You will receive the pre-course material 2—3 weeks before the course starts.

It is important you prepare before the course starts to get the most out of it. The individual assignments, which you complete in the evening between course days, are an important part of preparing to pass the exam.

If you have not passed the official PRINCE2® Foundation examination, but are certified at IPMA® A-, B-, C- or D level or PMI® PMP- or CAPM level, you are required to fully master the PRINCE2® theory’s principles and processes to participate.

Prerequisites for taking your PRINCE2® certification exams

There are no prerequisites for taking a PRINCE2® Foundation certification. However, there are prerequisites if you wish to take a Practitioner certification.

You can take the PRINCE2® Practitioner certificate if you hold any of the following certifications:

  • PRINCE2® Foundation (or higher)
  • PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation
  • Project Management Qualification® (PMQ)*
  • Certified Associate in Project Management® (CAPM)*
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)®**
  • IPMA Levels A,B,C and D® (Certified Projects Director)***

*‘PMQ’ is a registered mark of the Association for Project Management.
**’PMP and CAPM’ are registered marks of the Project Management Institute, Inc.
***‘IPMA Level A/B/C/D’ are registered trademarks of the International Project Management Association.

About your PRINCE2® exams

The PRINCE2® Foundation exam has the following format:

  • Multiple choice questions in English
  • 60 questions per paper
  • 33 marks required (out of 60 available) to pass: 55%
  • One hour (60 minutes) duration
  • Closed book

If you pass your exam, you will receive your official PRINCE2® Foundation certificate electronically directly from PeopleCert.

The design, formulation, and correction of your exam is carried out by PeopleCert who administers PRINCE2®.

Once you have passed your exam, you will receive your official PRINCE2® Foundation certificate electronically directly from PeopleCert.

The PRINCE2® Practitioner exam has the following format:

  • Multiple choice
  • 68 questions, 1 point per right answer
  • 38 marks or more are required to pass (out of 68 available): approximately 55%
  • 2 hours 30 mins (150 minutes in total) duration, if English is your native language
  • 3 hours and 8 minutes (188 minutes) duration, if English is not your native language. No additional reading time.

You are allowed to use your PRINCE2®-manual, but no additional notes are allowed

The design, formulation, and correction of your exam is carried out by PeopleCert who administers PRINCE2®.

Once you have passed your exam, you will receive your official PRINCE2® Practitioner certificate electronically directly from PeopleCert.

How your online exams are conducted

You will take your exams online directly with the official exam provider, PeopleCert, on your own after completing the courses.

In connection with your courses, we will send you an exam voucher for PRINCE2® Foundation and PRINCE2® Practitioner, respectively, and you book your exams directly with PeopleCert.

You can choose the day and time that best suits your schedule.

We will, of course, also send you a detailed description of what you need to be aware of regarding your online exams.

Certification validity and expiry date

PRINCE2® Foundation and PRINCE2® Practitioner certification’s validity is 3 years, where the holder may either re-sit the exam or maintain validity through AXELOS membership.
