Mannaz is helping Alfa Laval activate their strategic transformations through continually enhancing, strengthening and adjusting development activities at different leadership levels. To maximise impact, the partnership has an agile approach with red threads connecting the past, present and future and considers effects on the entire portfolio of interventions.
In a complex context of companies like Alfa Laval, businesses need to transform and adapt to stay relevant and attractive. This includes shifts in strategic priorities, increased growth targets, and organisational restructuring. This also calls for similar updates of the portfolio of development programmes.
A programme’s relevance depends on its ability to stay up to date with strategic and organisational shifts. To an extent, even on its ability to stay ahead of them. All leadership development activities across different levels are an opportunity to align leaders of Alfa Laval with current and upcoming strategic transformations.
Additionally, to unlock the full potential of having a broad portfolio, it is necessary to consider the interconnectedness of the interventions.
Perspectives of the past, present and future
Mannaz and Alfa Laval have collaborated since 2011, meaning they can draw on more than a decade worth of knowledge and insights from partnering on impactful and popular programmes. These deep roots are accompanied by a continual focus on the future and emerging trends. Together, Mannaz and Alfa Laval prioritise how to upgrade their programmes to drive present and future organisational strategical transformations.
A portfolio approach to interventions
Mannaz and Alfa Laval have a broad portfolio of co-created programmes that target different groups including Managing Directors, Senior Leaders and Project Managers. A red thread of tools, frameworks and themes is woven into the programmes to create strategic alignment at all leadership levels.
“What we do in leadership development, how does that reflect in what we do in project management? And what we do in sustainability, how do we integrate that? All of these areas go hand in hand if you have a solid, trusted supplier like Mannaz who is ahead of the game. It is important to create a red thread and I like that we do it together. Here, the collaboration with Mannaz has been excellent because they challenge us and have such a width of understanding of models and tools. Mannaz and our internal facilitators look at how we can use these tools at different levels depending on the target group.“

Integrating Alfa Laval’s new front and centre focus on sustainability
Mannaz’ primary interest is for Alfa Laval to succeed with their strategy and purpose. Over the last years, sustainability has become core for Alfa Laval’s value proposition and strategic choices. Therefore, Mannaz has helped integrate sustainability into existing project management training and developed a new programme that drives this specific strategic transformation.
Scaling programmes by targeting more broadly and globally
Since the beginning of 2024, Alfa Laval has been on a journey of further expanding their leadership portfolio globally with a local presence. Mannaz has been engaged in efforts of scaling and transforming the portfolio to reach more leadership levels and more globally by expanding the scope and scale. Existing programmes are now targeting more specific leadership groups to provide the right people with the right kind of development at the right time. Additionally, Mannaz facilitators are increasing the global reach of the portfolio by bringing programmes to locations like India, China, and the US.
“There is a massive acceleration of change and opportunities. And this is where I think the partnership with Mannaz has been great because we are now moving to scaling our portfolio and making it more global and customised. We have been engaging Mannaz right from the beginning to bring them along on this exciting journey. We challenge ourselves and Mannaz to give the programmes a more global reach. I find a great keenness from Mannaz to be a partner on this ambitious agenda of transforming our portfolio”
