Personally, I find light, hope, and motivation in the ‘Inner Development Goals’, which enables us to make 2025 a better year together.
Let’s look inward to create outer impact. Let’s dive into the inner development goals and find the path forward. Together we can do more. You and me.
The Inner Development Goals (IDGs) focus on developing the inner skills and qualities necessary to tackle the complex and global challenges we face. We are all responsible for contributing to a safer and more sustainable planet. It’s a matter of our shared responsibility for our shared future.
So, let’s talk about you, and how you can make a difference – for yourself, for people, and our planet.
Let’s talk about how you can take initiative in your organisation and among those you lead. How you can consider the many people, both near and far, who are affected by your actions?
How to work for future generations so they can inherit a balanced world. Contribute to both the local and global community for a better future.
By integrating IDGs into your leadership style, you can effectively take initiative, consider the broader impact of your actions, and work towards a sustainable and inclusive future.
The IDG framework consists of five dimensions that organise 23 skills and qualities within human inner growth and development. They look like this:
IDGs are important for your leadership and development for several reasons.
1. Being; relating to yourself: Increases your self-awareness and reflection to become more aware of your values, strengths, and weaknesses, which can improve your decision-making and relationships with others.
2. Thinking; cognitive skills: Focuses on developing critical and creative thinking skills necessary to navigate complex challenges and create sustainable solutions.
3 & 4. Relating; caring for others and the world + Collaborating; social skills: By strengthening your empathy and communication skills you create more inclusive and supportive work environments. This improves your ability to collaborate and build trust to be better at navigating complex team dynamics and fostering a culture of cooperation.
5. Acting; enabling change: Supports you in being even more courageous and proactive to be better equipped to take initiative and lead changes in your organisation.
We know that integrating IDGs into your personal and community inner development creates leaders and employees who are not only professionally skilled but also emotionally intelligent and capable of handling the complex challenges we and businesses face. There is only us – the potential is people.
Come on, you can do it – new year, new hopes, and new actions.
I wish you a warm, bright and safe 2025.
